A 'membership website' is different from a 'plain website' when it has the following features:

- Easy to use interface so that each of your Officers can update their web pages easily:
Simply Log-In then goto a page, click on the Edit button, then type your text and upload any photos. Click Save... and It's done!

- For websites where more than one person wants to edit the website:
The ability for a Master Administrator (Webmaster) to raise or lower permissions levels of any other registered user... which in turn allows you to assign different Permissions to different people so they can manage their own page or their own section of the website - without the threat of accidentally destroying the whole website.

This elevates the "Webmaster" from a "grunt work" role to an Administrator role.
Our unique server software eliminates the need to re-type text that is submitted to the Webmaster. The job of keeping the website up to date is now spread across a group of people -- where each person is responsible for maintaining their own areas of the website.

Account Login Allows users to login to the portal.
Announcements This module renders a list of announcements. Each announcement includes title, text and a "read more" link.
Banners Banner advertising is managed through the Vendors module on the Admin tab. Website Administrators can select the number of banners to display as well as the banner type.
Blog Blog Module allows people to create Blogs. Members must be promoted to a role that allows posting blogs.
BTBAmazonRelatedProducts Display relevant Amazon products on certain web pages.
Weather Generates a 3-day weather report for a given location.
Chat This module allows users to chat with other users on the website.
Contacts This module renders contact information for a group of people, for example a project team. Contacts includes an edit page, which allows authorized users to edit the Contacts data stored in the database.
Fairly restrictive. Better to place Contact Names & Phone numbers onto a regular page using the Text module.
Content Dejour HtmlText module which displays rich text content based upon the current month, day of month or year, day of week, category, or start and end timespan. Great for seasonal or monthly content.
Documents Renders a list of documents, including links to browse or download the document. Documents includes an edit page, which allows authorized users to edit the information about the Documents (for example, a friendly title) stored in the SQL database.
Events Renders single and recurring events and includes Master and Sub Calendars with TimeZone Adjustment, Event Enrollment, and Event Notification.
Expandable Text/Html A ExpandableTextHtml module. If you have a long page, this can hide details until the person clicks to see the details.
FAQs FAQs allow you to manage a list of Frequently Asked Questions and their corresponding Answers.
Feed Explorer Allows users to browse RSS feeds using a tabbed user interface
Feedback Feedback allows visitors to send messages to ANY authorized recipient. Very powerful.
Forum Forums are also called NewsGroups.
Google Adsense Allows you to create Google Adsense ads on your site
Guestbook A basic guestbook module allowing users to leave comments on your website. Should be limited to visitors who can be trusted, otherwise it could get out of hand quickly.
Help The Help Module renders tutorials in a structured manner and allows for easy navigation of the tutorials.
IFrame The HTML iframe creates an inline frame that contains another document, which can be located on your or any other website.
Links Renders a list of hyperlinks. Links includes an edit page, which allows authorized users to edit the Links data stored in the SQL database.
Map Displays a map of a location. Useful for providing driving directions to your office.
Media
This module renders Media files. The module looks at the file extension and create the correct tag block to render the media in the browser. Media types are movies, mp3 etc.

News Feeds (RSS) News Feed allows you to aggregate a collection of syndicated news feeds in Rich Site Summary (RSS) format and render the results in a single sorted list.
Reports The Reports Module allows users to quickly display data retrieved from many data sources. An extensible architecture allows the use of custom Data Sources and Visualization systems to display data from any tabular data source, in many ways. Requires custom programming.
Repository A File Library of any type of file you can imagine. A file/object repository module that includes skinning and community features like comments and user ratings.
Repository Dashboard A Dashboard companion module for the Repository Module. Lists categories and top n lists such as most downloaded, latest files, etc.
Search Input Provides the ability for visitors to search for keywords.
Search Results Displays the search results.
Store Account Small simple Shopping Cart. The Store Account module provides customer account, cart and checkout functionality.
Store Admin The Store Admin module provides the administration interface for the Store.
Store Catalog The Store Catalog module provides product lists and product detail functionality.
Store Menu The Store Menu module provides the menu containing product categories.
Store Mini Cart The Store Mini-Cart module provides the small summary of the customer's cart items.
Survey Survey allows you to create custom surveys to obtain feedback from public visitors to your website, or can be restricted to those who have Registered or attained a higher access level on your website.
Tell-A-Friend A TellAFriend module
Text/HTML You will use this 99% of the time to add content to your website. This module renders a block of HTML or Text content. The Html/Text module allows authorized users to edit the content either inline or in a separate administration page. The content is stored in the database. According to module settings, tokens can be used, that get replaced during display.
TOM_Image Gallery Display images from Directory with next/previous controls.
Use other software (provided) to resize all the photos in a directory to the same size, then you upload those photos into a subdirectory on the server, then you use this module to provide the maneuvering controls.
Does not have Voting/Comments features of other similar software, like the Ultra Gallery software, below.
Ultra Media Gallery Ultra Media Gallery is the most popular flash gallery module, which allows you to build professional photo galleries or media galleries with various flash interfaces.

User Account Allows users to register and manage their account.
User Defined Table User Defined Table module allows editors to create a custom data table for managing tabular information with individually defined fields (columns). Users can be allowed (by security roles) to add, edit or delete own or all users data. Besides default grid rendering, data display can be optionally formatted using XSL stylesheets.
UsersOnline Users Online allows you to see who is online in your portal, and see membership counts
WeatherConditionsService Displays the current weather conditions at a location.
Whats New? This module allows users to view a list of the most recently added or updated content. Administrators can control the maximum (and minimum) number of items to display as well as the date range to search.

XML/XSL This powerful module queries XML Data from a file or an http request, transforms the XML data using an XSL transformation and returns the result back to the user. Requires custom programming.
