If you are in the Economy Class (competes against NetZero), and if you have a @1usa.com email account, your Mail Server is located at http://mail.1usa.com
If you are in the VIP Class (competes against Juno and others) or Gold Class (competes against MSN, Earthlink, Verizon), you are allowed to use a POP3 Email Client software program.
The benefit of using a POP3 Client is:
- You can save your emails in the Outlook or Outlook Express software on your computer for an indefinite period of time. Thus you don't need to pay extra for Storage Space on the servers.
When receiving emails, 1USA Subscribers should be using Home.1usa.com as the POP3 server.
When transmitting emails, 1USA Subscribers should be using Out.1usa.com as the SMTP server.
These servers are set in your Outlook / Outlook Express software... on the account's Servers tab.
If you use the 1USA Email Account Setup Software, which only takes 1 minute, your email account will be setup correctly.
Note that you have the opportunity to delete any other email accounts during the setup. You can delete obsolete email accounts if you need to.
Microsoft Outlook Express (or Windows Mail on Vista and newer) saves its files in individual .DBX files in the path of c:/Documents and Settings/<profile Name>/Local Settings /Identities/<identity code>/Microsoft/Outlook Express/*.dbx
Microsoft Outlook Express (or Windows Mail on Vista and newer) saves its Address Book in the path of c:/Documents and Settings/<profile name>/Application Data/Microsoft/Address Book/ in a .WAB file.
You can change these locations to make it more convenient to backup the email folders and address book periodically by changing the Store Folder under Tools > Options > Maintenance Tab > Store Folder button.
Personally, I like to move the folder into My Documents / Outlook Express Data Files/ directory -- so they get backed up whenever you make a Backup of your My Documents files.
Microsoft Outlook, on the other hand, stores its files in one .PST file.
Likewise, I recommend that you MOVE the .PST file to a new folder My Documents/Outlook/ folder so that it gets included when you do a Backup of the My Documents folder.
